Anyone had any prodlems with 1992 hiace steering rack,had a wobble on steering at low speed.
took the van for mot , i told mecanic that i thought the track rod end needed replaced for mot because of small side to side slack on road wheel. PASSED mot t/rod end ok,still not happy took it to another place ,they said one frount tyre the caseing on the tyre was warped and steering rack had too much play, priced new one £1200 fitted , getting tyre done first see what happens.
anyone got idears with replacement rack . cost ,ease of job etc

have you checked the bushes / bolts where the rack is attached to the body? Could be movement there?

was that your van that was up at the mercury doo in killin jazmax...?

could be the tie rods are worn as well

got new tyre sorted the wobble

been last few years but couldn't make it this year as I had a wedding to attend ... a few of the mates were at it said it was excellent...one of them reconised your van as being similiar to mine and had sent a picture of it, as I had mine up last year.....just to rub salt into the wound as I was not best pleased at having to miss the rally.....good old mates ????...

yes it was a good rally,great weather for a change
