It was taken at a camp ground about 10K's away from Guthega called island bend. It used to be a township but it all got demolished many years ago and now it's a free camping area (once you pay for your national parks pass of course) The oz tent was freakin awesome! cheers I thought I'd wake up to a destroyed camp site due to the gale force winds but it turns out the noises I heard were just sheets of snow banging up and down on the tent roof and sliding down the back of the tent Razz
And yes we stayed in the tent for two nights out of the three. The the van is much much warmer!!! lol!
Yeah,That's ice on the bottom corner too... Ive got some good snaps of the new setup(complete with drying cupboard for snowboarding gear afro ) I'll try and get them up soon...

missed the comp, but anyway...

this one's near firemore sands, west coast (somwhere), scotland last summer.

and again, somewhere on our way up to durness, same trip.

cheers all, haven't been on much, but so nice to see such nice vans on. one day, when i've paid for everything else, i'll bling mine up a bit! it's running well, just replaced the exhaust for mot, and the liteace is going great guns (on the veg oil) too!

I love the sound of "running on vege oil".
What if anything do you have to do to make this happen without ruining the engine?
I have a 3.0 litre turbo diesel,1993.

Nothing - just bung it in - around 20% in winter and 30+ in summer. You'll ne to change your fuel filter shortly after running veg - the veg oil tends to lift the algae off the tank and pipes and clogs it up. One change around a 1000 miles should do it Smile

Some fuel pump seals don't like the veg - Bosch copy Jap pumps new seals are biofuel friendly - green coloured and a slightly different profile

Yep, feels a bit weird at first pouring it in, but I've had no problems, if anything it seems to have smoothed the engine out a bit. I have worked up gradually to about a 30/35% mix now, i didn't want to shock the old girl's system! I did have a small leak where the fuel line enters the filter (the mixed fuel seems to be a very 'slippy' oily consistency), but replaced the old clip with a jubilee clip and it's been fine. I got an inline fuel filter (see through, cleanable job from ebay for a fiver), but nothing's shown up yet... I am on my fourth tank of veg/diesel at the mo.

I'll be working up gradually until I have starting problems I suppose, although it does get very cold up here in winter, and my current ratio or less might be a good sensible maximum then. I'm currently just using Asda's own brand vegetable oil (it's rapeseed oil at 5 for six litres), which at about 80p a litre is'nt bad, but I will be buying in bulk once our house move is complete.

Happy travels, you'll get used to the smell (and the accompanying 'hungry' feeling!).

Ron.
