How the $^@ do you re-program a remote lock key after putting in a new battery?

I havent got a clue ! Viv la manual door lock

I have heard that they can be quite involved.(turn key, press button, turn key, stand on one leg, press button etc. etc)

I'm sure someone clever here would have done it.

I bought a "how to" off of E-Bay it didn't work but I believe it was because this is an older unit. My Hiace is a 1991 4WD with a 2.8l diesel.
the key only has one switch button not two. the instructions were for a two button remote fob. Oh well the key still works in the lock I guess I should be happy with that!

I have the 1997 Hiace and didn't need to reset - just popped the new battery in and it worked straight away - don't know if that helps..

Hay i bought a new original key from toyota and yes it cost too much, and now they want me to pay an extra 50 bucks to get the remote central locking coded! So does anybody know how to code it?

Can I ask how much they stung you for??
I went to toyota in wollongong for a key and they quickly shewed me out the door...
As for coding, they suggested trying to find the workshop manual for it.
Like admin said... left door twice, turn key,brake 3 times open right door,honk horn.
That type of thing.

I think it was about $180ish for the key, bought it late last year when my original remote key stopped working, shortly after my original one started working again and still going. But nice to have a spare anyway.

Transmit door key - KZJ95W - Castle Hill Toyota deal alot with jap imports, and have all information, but for a fee.

I've now thrown my original key in the cupboard!!!
I got a Plain old run of the mill key cut(which is better for taking in the surf anyway) and the Rhino keyring operating the central locking.Heaps better!!!
AND I even got the key cut for free because Work had heaps done the day before!!! SWEET!
I got IN-CAR in Fairy meadow (Near Wollongong) to do it so none the wiser as to how they did it...
I Have been known to be a bit LAZY!!!
