PostSubject: numpty blows fuse   Sun Dec 02, 2007 11:31 am

Hi there guys! I think I've blown the 12V fuse by hooking up a 12v-220v inverter. Now I no longer have voltage from the cig lighter, and the stereo has stopped working.

Does anyone know where I can find the fuse for this? I'm a total numpty!!

Any help appreciated!!

Marc

Haha, I knew it would be you Nick! Thanks for the advice! I tried texting you, but didn't get a reply so didn't want to hassle you too much!

I did actually plug the inverter in the 12V socket right at the back of the van (above the fridge), but it seemed to blow the cig lighter at the front too as well as the stereo. Doh! Are they on the same fuse?

No sign of the keys yet - when did you send them? Speak soon!!

Marc

Hi Mark, have put a trace on the keys with Royal Mail and should get an answer.
Both units will only have gone if you had the battery switch on the dash engaged. The socket in the kitchen goes via the Benimar box (The one in the dinnette under the seat which will now have a red light next to it displaying which fuse has blown) and the battery switch is from the same fusebox I described in the earlier posting. If you get stuck call me as I am home all weekend.
What were you using an inverter for, the National Grid Question Use the 2 supplies near the leisure batteries under the seats for inverter power, the socket at the back was fitted only for low power units like torch chargers/phone chargers etc.
Also got some good tips on inverters if ya need some advise.
