VW T4 uses a similar pump, I think its main purpose is to continue to cool the engine after switch off. On my T4 it ran for about 10 mins after I switched the engine off. I would think one from a T4 would be easier to source.

Hello Tony and thank you for your thoughts but from what i can see it pumps from the radiator then to what i think is the inter-cooler which is a square metal box where the intake comes from this box is around 500 mm square and 50 mm thick now one pipe from the pump goes in the box and then back out and back to the radiator --tomorrow i will pull the pump out the front plate is bolted on so i can have a look inside ==i have Emailed every Jap parts in Australia but no help there !
Again Thanks Tony for your time †Very Happy†in days gone Tony when i asked a Question here had all the help but not this time†Shocked
And i must say this is the very first trouble i have had with my SC †Wink

Did the same on T4, hose from radiator, through oil cooler and heater to return. Some had them, some didn't so I think it depended on which market.

I guess someone could have fitted one to a SC mine doesn't have one.

Hello again Tony well just to let you know how i am going with this pump -what it is Auxiliary Water Heater Pump anyhow i Emailed the world but the one i have must be the only one that was ever built and used†Mad†but with your help and Ebay other cars have almost the same and would get me out of trouble or i was off to buy a Jeep anyhow yesterday i pulled it out and all it was a bearing everything is very good inside just like new (i only use the coolant from Toyota the red stuff!!) i had to build pieces of steel (tools!) to pull the bearings and push them back on and go to Toowoomba for the two bearings which only cost $8 ==one bearing got water into at sometime =i did cross a river here about three years back could of been that time it has a seal behind the pump if it does leak the coolant will run out before it gets too the seal==i have run it on the work-bench so now time to try it Tony†Smile†but i am almost sure it will be just fine?? This is the only trouble i have ever had with my SC!! †Again Tony thank-you for your help as you were the only person that sent a reply to my Questions if you were here i would buy lunch Mate†cheerscheerscheers

I have been thinking about this and I wonder if your SC has been fitted with a fuel burning night heater. An eberspacher for example. Or an electric immersion heater in the block, If so that would explain the pump as it will be an aftermarket fitment, and why no one else has heard of one!
