PostSubject: Air Con belt replacement.   Fri Apr 01, 2016 7:10 am

Driving home today, the aircon belt blew. I looked on Toyodiy.com and for my frame number it comes up with a Japan made 1992 2LTE Turbo Diesel. There were 2 part numbers for the compressor V-belt, 88310A and 99332-61240 Bando. Which one is it? I see that you have to remove the power steering belt 1st to put a new belt on. Are there any more suprises?

Maybe it is in this 2L-T manual (although a 2L-T can be different from a 2L-TE)

Luckily my nephew came over to help, as his arms are skinny enough to fit down to get at the idler pulley adjustment nut. The idler pully bearing was shot too, that's probably what caused everything. Over here in the Philippines, you can forget about part numbers at the local auto parts place. You want a belt, they go by length, unfortunately the old belt was out on the highway somewhere, so it took 2 trips on my nephews tricycle to get it right, the bearing was easy, we had the old one. Back together again and the aircon works good, 30 degrees plus every day here, you need it! The replacement belt we used was Bando industrial V-belt A-47 AXK. I think the 47 means 47 inches long 47C wouldn't compute. I'd go with 48 if I ever need another.
