Just been told the noise coming from front pulley is poss crank already changed the pulleys last june as the garage said that was the noise and now it's come back
so I'm thinking of getting shot of it pity really she has been a good old bus
but too much money to replace engine and fuel pump
any way going out today see what I can find and what the old girl will fetch
If she does go I will be taking towbar and window deflectors off Will post them as and when things get sorted

It might be the idler for the air/con. I had a noise on the front end and it was the idler roller near the air con unit. Also sometimes the tensioner idler pulley for the air/con belt has lateral play.It is a very long belt for the air con side.
Usually you get a Rumbling noise if the Main Bearings on the crankshaft are going or a knock that diappears when you put the engine under load if the Con Rod Big Ends are going.
Is it constant or intermittant?
If you have a metre long length of 15mm Copper Tube you can listen for the location of the noise safely whilst the engine is running.

Thanks for the info but last june changed the crank pulley when this same noise appeared when pulley changed noise went til now but has just re-appeared that's why I feel and agree with garage but I will check air con idler anyway just to clear wheather it is or is not
