Doesn't look like a 4wd. Front is easy. But how do

Do you really want to remove them?

I think it would be sufficient, to get the axle off the leaf springs (while keeping the leaf springs still assembled, with the van jacked up), by loosening the U bolts.
And then add some spacers between leaf suspension and the axle. This could be a piece of metal with a whole in there for the centerbolt.

For this way, you're going to need longer centerbolts and longer U bolts.

By removing a leaf you also lower the spring rate, so I don't think it is recommended.

If you think the van's rear suspension is to hard now, and you're never carrying anything, then maybe you can remove a leaf. But otherwise, I think you're going to hear the wheels hit your fender from time to time.

It's a coil spring rear end. Toyota 5 link suspention.
I'm getting the standard springs compressed slightly.
