Hi For you all out there

Just spent a very frustrating few days fitting a tracker to my SC it was a TK110 on ebay cheap at £13 but instructions with translation into English are terrible two problems were not easy to sort first you have to ensure GPRS is turned on in your sim card and second the instructions say just send URL# to tracker and it will reply with position NO after several attempts and verifying sim card working I found the problem via google all you have to do is insert the password in this case by typing URL,666666# it now works perfectly. Hope this helps anyone with same problem. Bus

Good info, I'll probably fit a tracker to mine too as HiAce's are quite sought after.

I see you have the same headlamps as me, with the fog lights looking a bit brighter than the main lamps.
How are you finding the light from them on the road?

Hi Fog lights are ok but we do not get much so cannot say how good they are.The trackers work really well with Iphone as you can navigate straight to the location.

I was wondering how good the headlights were, so I wasn't clear!

What SIM deal did you get in the end?

I did actually buy a battery powered tracker a couple of years ago to see what it was like, but I left the SIM in there and because i never made a call it got cancelled after a while.

I'm thinking the next tracker will be powered from the Van 12V electrics but there's still the issue of having to whip out the SIM now and again to keep the service provider happy.

Hi GPW in sunny Cambridge I wired mine into handy permanent 12v live used a O2 secreted it somewhere hard to find but with good sat reception . The o2 sim pay as you go is 99p but you have to put £10 on to activate this credit is not supposed to expire if you make a call every 6 months you dont have to take it out just use the tracker the return text validates it. So in theory £10 will last years. Another point they say use an old type 2g sim bought 2 on ebay but when they arrived they where 4g they work just the same but very misleading
http://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/qbkAAOSw1KxXNa4v/s-l1600.jpg this is the one I used very neat and easy to conceal, some of the more expensive ones can control fuel stop valves have movement alarms geofencing speed alarms even microphones but unless you are adept at electronics may be too complicated

I believe in keeping thing simple.

Good luck.

Don't waste your time with the link above..
Turns out the tracker is only found when someone with their app passes within Bluetooth range of the device.. The videos are completely misleading and I am sending mine back with a full refund.

The proper GPS trackers work realy well the Tracer R is entirely different and does rely on third party phones with the app utterly useless, good luck with the refund but dont hold your breth.

I have a GSM battery powered tracker I tried out. It was actually very good but needs a real SIM and battery charging - but you can get them chargeable by the 12V electrics too.

It was actually very good, did a trip to work and back with it and I could go to the site and see the exact route with direction and speed at each sample point, very good. You do need to keep the SIM working though which takes effort - not just adding money but IIRC making the odd call or sending the odd text to keep the SIM account alive.
