Hi there,

Apologies in advance if this is the wrong section or if there is another somewhere else on the forum, so mods feel free to move if necessary.

Anyways.....

Been looking for a decent supercustom for a while now and as of yesterday i took ownership of what i think is a pretty good example.
Details:

1996 Supercustom Limited
Digital dash
135k's on the clock
3L DT
purchased for $11200NZD

Already have a mod list planned for it so will keep everyone updated on the progress.

Ive already been for a lenthy drive and cant stop raving about these vans, totally wicked.

Regards,
Lonnie

Hi Lonnie,

Im based up here in Auckland.

Good to hear from you and that you bought a great Van!

I bought our one 3 years ago, its great for the family, kids camping and moving furniture etc.

1993 2.4EFI diesel SC Van
Std dash
190,000Ks ( was 142,500 when we bought it)
Purchased for $5,000 NZD.

Weve had a fewminor issues since we bought it:
Radiator replaced
Diesel pump leaking - was the winter additives they put in over here in NZ I think.
Indicator & tail light bulbs
Sunroof / moonroof drain pipe blocked.

For the most part its been great and we wouldnt be without it.

Happy motoring!

Martin.

Hey cheers team,

Im sure im gonna have "many a good times" in the girl.

Im a surfer which was the main reason behind the purchase so surf trips and in style is gonna be great.

I forgot to mention that the engine is: 3L diesel turbo

I'll be sifting through the forums for as much info on these wicked vehicles.

Happy motoring indeed.

Regards,
Lonnie

You will need to add lots of spoilers so it handles better in the Wellington wind. Lowering will help as well.

Mine is stock height mainly because of the speed bumps in Sydney, however I went to get a quote to lower at Peddars and they never came back to me. There are some lowering blocks for sale on Australian eBay.

Torsion bars at the front can be adjusted (just like my old valiant!) and rears you need to reset springs (bit dodgy) or replace with lower items. Like Werx, sydney has way to many speed humps to justify lowering if you drive it everyday. I have concidered airsprings (airbags) on the back as I carry heavy loads in mine. How about some pics of your beast!

The other thing to be aware of is that recently I went through a flooded road (not that deep) and it ripped off the sheilding covering the exhaust sytem - so be aware.
